When Reality Differs From Dreams

Often, we find ourselves in life situations where the reality is so different from what we had thought, desired or planned for our lives. What does one do when life gets complicated? When things are messed up? Pray and surrender our complicated mess to Jesus. (Matt. 11:28-30) Ok. Then, what?

Here are a few vital principles that we need to constantly remember and incorporate into our day-to-day lives as we journey towards victory.

PROCESS everything with Jesus. Sit with His Word and talk it out with Him. Weep, cry, argue but wait and listen to His counsel. (1 Th.5:17; Ps.139:23-24; 119:33-40)

ENDURE patiently the hardship and suffering with the supernatural strength, grace and power of the Holy Spirit. (2 Cor. 12:9; Phil 4:13)

APPLY God’s principles only. Obediently. Persistently. No matter how unreasonable, difficult or useless it may seem! (Prov. 3:5-7; Gal 6:8-9)

CALMLY release every doubt, fear, frustration, anxiety, tension, etc., into Jesus’ hand. Even if you have to do it a thousand times each day! (Phil 4:6; Isa. 41:10,13-14)

ENJOY every tiny little good that you currently have with the joy of the Lord. (Ps. 103:1-5) Discipline yourself to intentionally notice all the blessings you still have and stop grumbling. (1 Thess 5:18; Phil 4:8)

As we faithfully apply these principles, ‘…the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’ (Phil 4:7) Jesus Never Fails.
