Didn’t we tell you this would happen while we were still in Egypt? We said, ‘Leave us alone! Let us be slaves to the Egyptians. It’s better to be a slave in Egypt than a corpse in the wilderness!’” But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”
When the people of Israel saw the mighty power that the Lord had unleashed against the Egyptians, they were filled with awe before him. They put their faith in the Lord and in his servant Moses.” – Exodus 14:12-14, 31 NLT
It all depends from where you are watching the whole thing.
The struggle and the battle that the Israelites were facing against the Egyptians had them ALMOST GIVING UP.
Standing before them was the furious waves of the Red Sea and behind them was the angry mighty army of Egypt. Standing in the middle, all that they could do was to grumble at God.
Sometimes even in our lives, we feel that God plans out the whole thing just to destroy us.
But we have been watching the messy scene from the wrong vantage point.
We need to look at the whole battle from the other side of the Red Sea. Because God always wants us to take us to the other side of Red Sea. His plans for us are always good. When the Israelites stood on the other side and watched how God had literally destroyed their enemies, all that they could do was bow down in worship to God. They were in awe of God.
Regardless of where we are in life and what we face, we need to look at the battle through God’s eyes and know that He is always planning for our good. Even when it seems it is all going bad right now, He will never let go of us and He is fighting our battles.
Like Moses we need to whisper:
‘I will not be afraid. I will just stand still and watch the Lord rescue me today… The Lord himself will fight for me. I will just stay calm.”
