The Spirit Reveals God’s Heart

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come [John 16:13].

One of the greatest privileges of being a child of God is that we don’t have to wonder how he feels about us – whether he loves us or cares about us or if he will guide us ad help us. The Holy Spirit dwelling inside Christ-followers is our gateway to the heart of God. It’s through him that we can know the will of the Father, and through him that we encounter God’s presence and have continued free access to the heart of God.

Encountering the heart of God through the Holy Spirit is not only for the chosen few – it’s meant to be normal for every believer. The Holy Spirit wants to lead every believer to experience real, authentic, transforming relationship with the Father through the Son. Unless we open our hearts to the Spirit and allow him to teach us how to live life in communion with him, we will never know what it is to be rooted and grounded in God’s love and grace. If we are not rooted in the love of God we will be powerless against the storms of life and the attacks of the Evil one.

The Spirit wants to lead you to the heart of God so you can know the depths of his love and grace today. Seek out his will before you have to make a hard decision. Pursue his heart when you feel disturbed, insecure or frustrated. And take refuge in his presence when the cares of the world seem to weigh heavily on you. He is true to his promise: You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart [Jer 29:13].
