1. They keep their lives de-compartmentalized. They are the same man, husband and father regardless of where and when. This directly connects to the character of these men. None are perfect, but I would trust everyone of them with my kids.

2. They realize that their manhood and fatherhood are directly tied to their relationship with God. This means time in God’s Word, time in prayer and time with God’s people are essential parts of their lives.

3. They uphold their wives as their number one friend and co-worker in life. They realize that loving their wives is one of the greatest things they could ever give their kids, and they protect their marriage like it’s their life.  Read more

For all things were created by him, and all things exist through him and for him. To God be the glory forever! Amen. [Rom 11:36, GNT]

God has created us to do great things with the gifts, resources and opportunities he gives us in this life. But when we seek to achieve greatness for our own fame and reputation, we take upon our shoulders a weight only God can bear. In Isaiah 42:8 God says, “I am the Lord; that is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to carved idols.” God alone can bear the burden of glory. With glory comes great responsibility—responsibility you and I will never be able to bear. Living for your own glory will only lead you to a life of dissatisfaction, striving, burdens, and failure. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure [Heb 6:19]

It is almost Christmas… less than two days left!! Most people are running through their check-lists… house painted? New curtains/bedsheets? Decorations and lights? Special food items? Cakes for the home and to distribute? New clothes for the whole family? Greeting cards? Gifts for family and friends from giftunicorn.com?… All done? Sure?
Where are you spending Christmas this year? Everyone in my family is coming to our house for Christmas. We have recently finished remodeling our home into a smart home and I cannot wait for everyone to see the results. I absolutely love technology so turning our home into a smart home has been an amazing process. Whilst we were remodelling, one of my friends suggested that we consider using one of our spare rooms to create a cinema room. She told me that building a home theater system in one of those rooms would be extremely beneficial and would probably add some value onto the house if we ever wanted to sell it. Our family does love movie nights, so it might be a nice idea. Perhaps we’ll look into that idea a little bit more, it would be so nice to watch some Christmas movies in a home cinema room.
We have even installed a brand new home security system and I am so excited to start using it. To be honest, we had been thinking about installing some new CCTV cameras and alarms around our home for some time now to make sure that our property is as safe as possible. We were actually inspired to improve our home security system after speaking to our friends. They have just purchased some Verisure Smart Alarms as they work from home and therefore protecting their equipment is crucial. You can never be too careful after all.
In addition, we recently bought a home warranty plan so that if anything went wrong with the electrics or anything else during the holidays and in the future, we could get someone called out to fix it or replace it straight away meaning that the fun never stops and the house is safe! Places like First American offer home warranty texas, florida, arizona, and many other states, so that you can ensure that your home is covered this Christmas.
Is your home a smart home? Get in touch if so as I would love to hear about the steps that you have taken to protect your home. One last thing though… what gift have you got for Jesus this Christmas? It is Jesus’ birthday that is being celebrated! In all of our preparations and planning… what gift will be perfect for Jesus? May the lyrics of this song help you decide your gift for Jesus this Christmas…

My friend Kenny and his family had just returned from Disney World. “I saw a sight I’ll never forget,” he said. “I want you to know about it.”
He and his family were inside Cinderella’s castle. It was packed with kids and parents. Suddenly all the children rushed to one side. Had it been a boat, the castle would have tipped over. Cinderella had entered. Read more

The little girl was dead! Her body was getting cold. Memories of her growing up, flashed across the mind of her mother, as she hung on dearly to the corpse of the one, she once called ‘Talitha’. She lost her to sickness, death was rejoicing and the powers of darkness seemed triumphant, the mist of hope was replaced with the clarity of hopelessness. Read more

The Commands of God is also called as the ‘law of God’. The law of God is not simply a list of Do’s and Don’ts but it reveals the heart of God for our well-being. God’s commandments are not meant to hurt us or take away our joy; God’s laws are meant to guard us, guide us, and ultimately point us to Jesus!

When we understand the law correctly then we will be able to say like the Psalmist in Psalm 119:97, “Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.” Reading, meditating and loving God’s Word is a daily discipline and a life-long practice. Meditating on religious matters is observed in religions around the world which is why it might be useful to expand your knowledge of spiritual disciplines like yoga to enable you to connect with your inner self and ruminate on deep, philosophical matters that strengthen your spiritual connection with a greater power. If you wanted to take this a step further, you could consider becoming a teacher of it yourself – check out the rishikesh yoga teacher training center in india if this is of interest to you. Remember, yoga is not an exclusionary practice and it could be mightily helpful for Christians seeking to develop a more rounded spiritual wellness.

The children in their Sunday School song teach us…

Read your Bible, pray everyday, Pray everyday, pray everyday

Read your Bible, pray everyday. And you’ll grow, grow, grow

God wants us to grow…We must grow! We grow by loving God and His Word. There are many things we love…We love God, our family, our friends, our church and things special to us. May we have a special love for God’s Word.

Few Reasons why we love God’s Word:

  1. It is God’s creative power! (Genesis 1)
  2. It is Alive! (Hebrews 4:12)
  3. It is full of Surprises! (Isaiah 43:19)
  4. It is powerful in practical ways! (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
  5. It centers on Jesus! (John 5:39)
  6. It brings people to Jesus! (1 Peter 1:23)

The question is how much of your heart is full of God’s Word?

“For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession. The Lord did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. But it was because the Lord loved you and kept the oath he swore to your ancestors that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.” – Deuteronomy‬ ‭7: 6-9 ‭NIV‬‬
God invites us to make an awesome and absolute commitment to follow Him. He invites us to this supreme level of followership, because He goes all in to give His all for us.
He exhibits and expresses His commitment to us:
  • We are His treasured  choice: He chose us above everyone else to be most precious treasured possession for God
  • His extravagant love is poured out on us: He set his affection on us and poured out his love on us more than anyone else
  • He displays His unchanging  faithfulness to us: He is a God who ever faithful to us and will fulfil His promises to us.

Fear paints a picture of helplessness and hopelessness. It steals our peace and focus. What are we fearful about ? We are concerned about the safety of our families, health, finances, jobs, relationships, future etc. How did David deal with his fears ? Answer is found in Psalm 34:4
I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears“.
And how does God deliver us from our fears ? When we “look to Him”(vs 5), focus on Him, call upon Him and pray to Him, our fears fade. ” ..those who fear Him lack nothing” (vs 9) concludes David. How wonderful it is that in the fear of the Lord we are delivered from all our fears.

My soul clings to the dust; give me life according to your word! [Psalm 119:25, ESV]

There are times when we go to God’s Word and every word seems to have life and leap out from the pages. On the other hand, sometimes our hearts seem to grow dull, the words feel lifeless, having little or no impact on our lives. At such times Psalm 119 – a poem of love for the word of God – seems so remote from our experience. All through the Psalm, however, we find expressions of real sorrow and frustration, and in verse 25, for instance, the psalmist confesses that his soul clings to the dust. Read more
